Hello! Thanks for visiting, let me take this opportunity to tell you a bit about myself.
I am a design practitioner that deploys human-centered design methodology, business sense, and technical understanding to create products and services that solve human problems.
Most recently, I graduated from Carnegie Mellon University where I completed my Master of Human-Computer Interaction. I have 5+ years of experience creating physical and digital experiences for companies like PPG, Herman Miller, Daimler & more.
My background in architecture and industrial design fed my penchant for interactions within the physical world, and I’d love to deepen these ideas through automated & embedded systems, wearables, and connected cities.
I aim to build systems that balance profitability with sensitivity for people and the planet, as well as have some fun along the way 🙂.

🌝 MoonRanger Mission Control
CMU-affiliated Astrobotic’s MoonRanger is the first autonomous rover to look for ice at the Moon’s south pole. I led design for the faults & errors feature within the Mission Control Software. This feature aids Mission Operators in correcting errors and faults with the rover that could jeopardize the success of this lunar mission.

Role:
Product Designer - Faults & Errors Lead
Problem:
How can Mission Control Software aid Mission Operators in solving unexpected circumstances that jeopardize the success of the MoonRanger mission?
Because Mission Operators are working under tight timelines and stressful situations, reducing cognitive load was an important priority. This is done through developing information salience and using existing design patterns to prioritize primary information and actions.
I rapidly iterated on the engineering flows to understand process behind operator & robot interaction for error resolution.
Solution:
Error Resolution assists Mission Operators in identifying, prioritizing, and troubleshooting faults through directing focus and information saliency.
The MoonRanger rover is going to the moon to search for water ice on the lunar south pole. The rover could encounter faults and errors along the way e.g. electrical problems with the rover system, mechanical malfunctions, and unfavorable environmental conditions. Mission operators must troubleshoot these problems within a limited communication window, or risk mission failure.
I devised a ‘spotlighting’ ui pattern, which highlights current screen focus for operators.

Problem:
Informed by our research into the challenges faced by the painting business & end consumer relationship, we tailored our solution to solve pain points like project data documentation, active-project communication, and a new way of thinking about the paradigm of an ‘estimate’ or ‘quote’. The platform enables features like multi-modal ways of collecting and managing data, project project progress tracking, and
How can PPG provide new value to their architectural coatings business customers and end consumers through a digital tool or service?
Value flow model for understanding PPG’s digital strategy to serve painting businesses.
Solution:
My team devised a paint-industry specific tool for painting businesses to manage their customer relationships, fostering a better customer interaction and provided valuable data for PPG.
PPG, as a manufacturer of a commodity product like paint, is undergoing a digital transformation and looking for new ways to serve their customers and end consumers. Our project brief assumed that painting businesses had difficulty estimating the amount of paint for projects and were looking for advanced ways of doing this more accurately. Early in the research phase, we reframed the problem space to discover other needs the painting businesses have.
